Throne & Liberty

After nearly 5 years of the official announcement, we finally have an update on the MMORPG game that I have been eagerly waiting for; Throne & Liberty. I have a deep history with NcSoft, since the first MMORPG I ever played was created by them (Lineage MMORPG), a game that still today continues to make a huge profits in the East. However, no longer available in the USA, so yeah, I like them.

From playing Lineage MMORPG, to Lineage II, and Aion as well, I really do like their game. However most will not feel the same way as I do since all of them are just a grind feast. And it does take forever to get anywhere in these games. But I think that’s the whole story behind NcSoft, you work hard you reap the rewards.

But I am not hear to talk about my deep history with them, but rather give you an update on the latest release YouTube video regarding Throne & Liberty.

Throne & Liberty – PC, Mobile, or Console?

Throne & Liberty Director’s Preview, they talk about which system the MMORPG will be released on. I love the fact that they mention “MMORPG can’t be played on mobile”. Right away, this was good news to me, since the last few mobile games they released were on mobile and all was auto play and full of cash shops. Throne & Liberty is expected to be released on PC and Console, with the ability to stream the game via mobile phone.

throne and liberty customization of players

Steaming via mobile phone is fine, and I actually like that feature. LineageW is like (which I am currently auto playing), but is a fully automate game which runs in the background on my PC 24/7 :).

TL offers unique UI and UX depending on what your playing on (PC or Console). So the layout will be a little different going from PC to Console. Let’s face it thou, honestly, even MMORPG shouldn’t really be played on console. Tha’s just me, but ewh doesn’t matter what I think right? They designed the game to be run on multiple devices, which is a plus since.

Casual, Team or Solo Based Game?

The developers realized that they are different type of players. Some like team based gameplay, while some enjoy the solo based gameplay. And I am sure that TL will be fun for both side, as they took that into consideration, however, I do feel that the game will be heavily based on grinding money/equipment like all their previous games.

The way TJ CCO describes TL makes me go back to how “Lineage” MMORPG game is. All about honor, and work, and achieving the best from the game.

I am very convinced that since NCsoft is about honor, that they will incorporate alot of the old stuff from Lineage1, Lineage2, and Aion game. But time will tell if they changed that or not, with not enough information it’s hard to say.

Will there be PVP?

Did you really think that NCsoft would make a non-pvp based game? Nah, and I am glad they didn’t. However, it will be limited. Meaning majority of the areas in TL are non-pvp but when certain things like region raids, or boss spawns it’s free for all.

I can actually see a lot of high level players taking advantage of this!

Game Gamplay – Rain? Wind? Day/Night!

Combat might be a little different then normal tab and target or TERRA style (not sure what their system is called). Rain, wind, and everything else will make a difference in how your spell cast, or how your arrow will fly. This will be interesting as now not only do we have to target them correctly, but also take into consideration if there is any wind during combat.

Rain is suppose to make AOE attacks stronger as Lighting spell/skill will do more damage due to the all the water on the ground, which is cool.

Have been playing MMORPG since I was 18 years old. Back then, I had all the time in the world, today being much older with family and kids, my hardcore time has disappeared tremendously. However, when I get that few minutes of free time, you can bet I am playing. This addiction all began with Lineage The Bloodpledge.... a game dear to my heart.
